Hi

# Provide incentives. Offer people incentives to perform well, either with something small like a gift certificate or something more substantial such as a performance-based bonus or salary increase. Give out “Employee of the Month” awards. Such tokens of appreciation will go far in motivating employees.
# Honor your promises. Getting people to give their all requires following through on promises. If you tell an employee that he or she will be considered for a bonus if numbers improve or productivity increases, you’d better put your money where your mouth is. Failure to follow through on promises will result in a loss of trust -- not only that person’s trust, but the trust of every employee that hears the story.
# Provide career coaching. Help employees reach the next level professionally by providing on-site coaching. Bring in professionals to provide one-on-one counseling, which can help people learn how to overcome personal or professional obstacles on their career paths.
# Match tasks to talents. You can improve employee motivation by improving employee confidence. Assign individuals with tasks you know they will enjoy or will be particularly good at. An employee who is successful at one thing will have the self-confidence to tackle other projects with renewed energy and excitement.

Email Marketing Risks

Hi

Doing email right can be a fantastic addition to your marketing mix, but do it wrong and you might be better off not doing it at all.

The main risks are:

    * Branded a spammer - Without singling out any particular instance, even the best lists will get marked as spam occasionally because some people can’t be bothered to use the unsubscribe links. Also some people have a … strange … definition of what spam is. Darren and I were called spammers for sending messages about our book … to our ProBloggerBook.com list. So a small amount of this is to be expected. What you have to be careful of though is an accusation that sticks. Always make sure people know what they are signing up for and that they confirm their subscription so you can point to clear and fair opt-in.
    * Burning out your list – A certain amount of churn is to be expected. People leave lists all the time through no fault of yours. Too many messages, too often, or bad content to sales ratio and you could find your email list becoming used up and burned out. Be careful to always make your list valuable to your readers, not an irritation.

Top tips for buying a new build home

Hi

Buying a home is perhaps the most important purchase you will ever make, so it's not surprising many opt for the apparent advantages of a new build.

Check the site and house plans carefully, especially if you are buying off-plan. Remember that the marketing material may use artist impressions and should not be regarded as accurate. If you feel your property has been misdescribed, contact your local Trading Standards Office, who may prosecute the developer under the Property Misdescription Act 1991.

Remember you are not buying the show home and you may not even be buying the same style of house. Try to get a tour of the style of property you are buying, which may involve going to another development.

Make sure you negotiate. The developer is unlikely to reduce the price, but flooring, landscaping, fencing and curtains are all up for grabs. Try not to appear too keen, if you want to get the best deals.

Extra care is required at the end of the developer’s financial year, as targets have to be met and corners may be cut to meet them. You could be moved you into a property that is not complete with significant remedial work required. However, developers may offer generous incentives at this time of year to meet their targets, especially if they have unsold homes
which are build-complete or nearing completion.

Thanks
